According to the article, William M. Mead had lived in Hackensack and moved to Paterson, where it appears he is the Major of a Battallion in the 29th Division.  He was mentioned in one of Harry Doremus’s letters, and received high praise from none other then
General Pershing himself. 

William M. Mead was in a hospital in France suffering from the effects of being gassed while fighting in Verdun.
